Anne Christel Johnsgaard appointed as new EVP of People and Communication at BI

Johnsgaard brings extensive experience from various organizations where she has worked with HR, communication, public affairs, and change and development processes.

She joins BI from her role as Director of the program for digitization and portfolio management at the University of Inland Norway.

"Johnsgaard offers solid experience and expertise in leadership, communication, HR, and digitization, which will be crucial for realizing BI's strategic ambitions. I look forward to having Anne Christel as part of BI's management team, where she will play a central role in further developing our organization and culture. Additionally, she will have overall responsibility for enhancing the visibility of our research, which is characterized by high quality, societal impact, and relevance," says Karen Spens, President at BI Norwegian Business School.

Johnsgaard has previously served as Director of the University of Inland Norway’s business school unit,  HR Director at Hedmark University College (now University of Inland Norway), Director of Public Affairs and Communication at Oslo and Akershus University College (now Oslo MET), and as a partner at Geelmuyden Kiese.

Anne Christel has studied political science at the University of Oslo and holds an Executive Master of Management from BI Norwegian Business School. She has also served as a municipal council representative in Elverum and held various positions within the Labour Party.

Johnsgaard will begin her new role at BI 1 June, 2025.
