Societal impact
When you are working at BI, you are contributing to the development of the knowledge and educational sector. Students from BI have the opportunity to influence industries, sectors and our society. At BI you are part of something bigger than just your individual assignments, and everyone’s effort matters. It might be a bit overwhelming, but most of all it is very satisfactory, and something that makes us all very proud of working at BI.
“Working style”
There is a strong entrepreneurial spirit at BI and a strong commitment to continuously improve – for instance manifested by always walking that extra mile to find solutions. You will also discover that there is a strong engagement for our students – we live our value “students first”. Humour and good moods should also be mentioned – people thrive at BI, and you will meet many employees who have worked here for a very long time.
There are about 50 nationalities working at BI. We have a language policy stating that common information is in English only, to make sure that everyone is included. This also means that you need to be prepared to both communicate and digest information in English on a regular basis.
At the first impression, looking at the BI organisational chart, BI is divided into separate units and departments. However, you will soon notice that we are dependent on collaboration across units, and your work will run smoother if you build a network across departments. This will be encouraged through your onboarding, and we recommend that you partake in the many social arenas offered.
Finally - we don’t have a formal dress code, but if we did it would probably be described as business casual.
Diversity and equal opportunity at BI
We have established a policy for diversity and equal opportunity policy that states that all employees have the same rights, duties and opportunities irrespective of gender, age and national or ethnic background, disability, religion or sexual orientation. Gender equality is also one of BI's three targeted sustainability goals.
We work actively to secure inclusion and prevent any discrimination based on gender. We also encourage employees to remain in their positions as long as possible and make facilitations for employees with disabilities.
The Working Environment Act governs protection against discrimination. BI has both an activity- and a reporting obligation in relation to the Equality and Anti-Discrimination Act.
How do we communicate
We use a variety of tools, depending of the purpose. Below you can find our channel strategy, which offers the overall picture of what communication tools we use for what purpose:
Depending on your position, you might also be using Zoom for meetings and/or teaching.
