Asian Business Trends Programme: Emerging Windows of Opportunity

Introduction

The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken almost everything and caused disruptions to all aspects of our lives. Studies revealed that Asia has emerged stronger, and economic growth and opportunities are opening. Life beyond the pandemic in Asia is an important topic for businesses and leaders. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast in July 2021, Asia is expected to grow at 7.5 per cent in 2021 and 6.4 per cent in 2022, compared with 6.0 per cent and 4.9 per cent for the world. In a series of interviews with Asian executives by McKinsey, it was reported that economic disruption associated with the pandemic appears to have accelerated the shift toward Asia-for-Asia supply chains. How did Asia achieve this? What can you learn from the shift toward Asia-for-Asia business practices and trends? Why did Asia emerge stronger?

This module entitled ‘Emerging windows of opportunity for Asian Business Trends’ aims to provide course participants with a glimpse of the windows of opportunity from Asian perspectives.
