Ethics after Business School

What are the ethical challenges encountered by young professionals who have graduated from a business school?

For more than ten years, I have been responsible for a 6 ECT ethics course for Master of Science students at BI Norwegian Business School. More than 5000 Norwegian and international students have taken the course in that time. Ethics after Business School is a research project, where I reach out to my former students to collect and categorize narratives about the ethical challenges that they have faced in their professional lives after business school. The project also invites the former students to reflect on how the course prepared them for ethics after business school.

You can find a more detailed description of the project, with an invitation to contribute here.

The entry form for contributing is located here.

The main curriculum for the course has been my book Moral Reasoning at Work: Rethinking Ethics in Organizations. The second edition was published by Palgrave MacMillan/Springer Nature in 2019. It is an Open Access title, and you can download it for free from here.

If you are curious about the findings from the project, you can join our mailing list.

If you have other reflections and questions, please send me an e-mail: oyvind.kvalnes@bi.no.
