What can I do with my degree?
Anna shares what it's like to work in an organisation focused on sustainability and how BI's up-to-date education in the field has thoroughly prepared her for the role.
Position: Management Trainee
Employer: Storebrand
In my experience so far at Storebrand, the work environment varies across departments. In my current rotation as a business developer, the work is mainly project-based, with fast-paced periods where staying organized and prioritizing tasks is essential. While I don’t interact directly with clients, many of my colleagues do. The culture at Storeband is collaborative, with teamwork playing a key role in achieving goals. Work-life balance is highly valued, making it easier to manage the demands of the job.
During my two years as a master’s student at BI, I was most inspired by the collaborative and diverse learning environment. Working on projects with classmates made studying engaging, and being part of an international class with students from all over the world brought a variety of perspectives, leading to better discussions and stronger results. I also found real-life casework motivating, as it allowed me to apply my knowledge practically and develop key skills for my career.
The academic level of the MSc in Sustainable Finance is demanding yet highly rewarding, helping me develop strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and a research-oriented mindset. The teaching style was interactive, with a mix of lectures, group projects, and case studies. I especially appreciated how professors encouraged discussions and focused on real-world applications, making it easier to connect theory with practice and understand the broader impact of sustainable finance.
