  • How would you characterise the academic level of the Master of Science in Quantitative Finance, and how would you describe the teaching style?

The Master of Science in Quantitative Finance is both highly quantitative and theoretical. The programme integrates advanced mathematics, statistics, and financial modelling. While the curriculum includes a strong theoretical foundation, it also balances theoretical lectures with practical applications, such as case studies, coding assignments, and using real-world data for financial analysis. Professors encourage critical thinking, and many courses involve group projects. The workload is demanding but effectively prepares students for careers in finance. 

  • How did you experience the student environment at the Master of Science in Quantitative Finance programme? 

The student environment is intellectually stimulating, with a strong emphasis on collaboration. Students come from diverse academic backgrounds, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas. While gender imbalances still exist, many universities and firms actively promote inclusion. I have not faced any challenges as a woman in the field.

  • What is it like to work in the finance industry?

Asset management is a fast-paced, high-pressure, and competitive industry where results are easily measurable. The culture is performance-driven, prioritizing outcomes over long hours. Strong collaboration is essential, as is a keen attention to detail. working as a buy-side investment analyst requires staying updated with market developments, company news, and economic trends. Passion for the field is crucial, as the role demands continuous learning and adaptability.
